Kelvin Dinkins
Kelvin Dinkins, Jr. is a seasoned arts leader, educator, and consultant specializing in organizational development, strategic planning, and change management. With over 15 years’ experience in the performing arts and higher education, he has worked with institutions across the country to successfully advance business operations, culture, and governance practices. As a consultant, he has partnered with institutions such as Princeton University, Brown University/Trinity Repertory Company, Jacob’s Pillow, Spoleto Festival, Seattle Children’s Theatre, the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, UNC Greensboro School of Theatre, JAG Productions, and AEA Consulting.
Kelvin is an alumnus of Princeton University and holds an M.F.A. in Theatre Management & Producing from Columbia University School of the Arts. Kelvin has previously served as the Executive Director of the American Repertory Theater at Harvard University (A.R.T.), leading an unprecedented turnaround in the wake of the pandemic to the organization’s most profitable seasons and the launch of an historic $250M capital project. He has worked in senior management for various arts organizations including the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University, Yale Repertory Theatre, Two River Theater, The Civilians, Theatre Forward, National Artists Management Company, and Intiman Theatre. He has also served on the boards of the League of Resident Theatres (LORT) and Theatre Communications Group (TCG).
Kelvin is currently a lecturer and case study advisor in the Theater Management MFA program at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale. He is a frequent guest lecturer and speaker on theater management, culture, and leadership for Princeton University, Brown University, University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance, Harvard Business School, New York University, Notre Dame, and Emerson College.
